After that lecture we all gathered together for a lecture about Peruvian food and drink from a nutrition professor at the university. The professor had prepared a powerpoint with pictures of different foods and a table with many of the common ingredients and vegetables displayed. He told us about all the different cultural influences in Peruvian food (Chinese, African, Italian, etc.). He also showed us the different kinds of plants they grow here (their variety of potatoes, their purple corn, etc.). After that lecture we all gathered in the library for more presentations about the book we are reading about Lima. We spoke in Spanish, and the students of UNIFE translated what we said into English.
The activity today did not take as long as it did yesterday so once we got back to Miraflores I went to get sushi with some people from our trip. We went to a place in Larcomar (a high-end shopping plaza along the beach) called KO Asian Kitchen and I ordered crab sushi with ceviche on top. I wasn't too hungry and wanted a light meal. It was perfect! And after that we went to a Pinkberry that was also in Larcomar and got frozen yogurt.
