Today I was finally feeling better so I was able to attend classes at El Sol! Towards the end of our class, our conversation and history teacher Rosa taught us all how to make Pisco Sour, a popular Peruvian alcoholic drink. We used ice, pisco (a type of alcohol), corn syrup, lime juice, and egg whites to make it!
After our classes we had a free afternoon so I went and got lunch with some other people. We went to Papacho's which is owned by the famous Peruvian chef, Gastón Acurio. Papacho's is known to have great burgers so we all ordered one. That burger was the most American meal I'd had for weeks, and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. I included a picture of it below because it was truly amazing.
After lunch, I went and did some shopping with Anna. We went to a large store called "La Quinta" with multiple different vendors and got some cool t-shirts, and then stopped in several craft markets and looked around a lot. The shops were cool, but all had very similar touristy items. I'm still on the hunt for some cool gifts...
